Breakout Track
When you sign up for this Workshop Experience, you are automatically registered for all four of the following breakouts in this track.
Go Back to Why
Let’s start by unpacking the essentials of every kid and youth ministry. Those essentials never change, but provide a basis for how you change everything. When you finish this session, you’ll have clear wins that affect how you do your job, how you evaluate your ministry, and how you champion a strategy for making kids, youth, and family ministry a priority in your church. We’ll also help you establish a quarterly plan to assess your ministry and team growth.
Say Less for More
You have an average of 40 hours of programming with a kid or teenager every year to help them develop an authentic faith. Since you have a limited amount of time with each kid and youth, it’s important to prioritize your content around what matters most. That’s why we think it’s important to build a curriculum plan that’s relevant to a kid or teenager’s everyday faith. There’s a shift happening in discipleship that requires ministries to say less in a way that is more compelling and consistent to inspire meaningful faith conversations. In this session, you’ll learn how to build and promote an annual calendar that’s built on what Jesus said matters most.
Two Combined Influences
Your ability to influence those in the parental role and those who volunteer will determine the success of your ministry. That’s why your primary work isn’t with kids and teenagers, but with adults who are working on the front lines. The most important part of your job description is learning how to help parents and leaders win every week. When you establish the right kind of ministry culture, you’ll attract effective leaders, retain them, and engage parents to become more intentional at home.
Mobilize a Generation
If you hope to disciple this generation, then you have to be intentional about inviting them to personally experience ministry. The shift from doing ministry “for” kids and teenagers to doing ministry “with” them will make a difference in how they grow spiritually. In fact, research has proven that providing consistent service opportunities in your church and community will impact the faith of leaders and kids more than anything else you do. That’s why in this session you’ll learn to implement a practical strategy to engage kids and teenagers at every phase to serve.
